Report: Boston Mayor Selected as New Labor Secretary

Politico White House correspondent Tyler Pager reported today that Boston Mayor Marty Walsh will serve as the Secretary of Labor in Joe Biden's administration. Walsh was previously a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving in that office from 1997 until 2014, when he began his term as mayor.


Walsh was also a member of Laborers' Union Local 223 and served as the union's president as well as the secretary-treasurer and general agent of the Boston Metropolitan District Building Trades Council.
